Groan is a reference to prying off the parameters of the previous album, Grid. There was still much residual after glow to shrug off and initial efforts started to sound electronic. To get some "grit" back into the music, I began weaving in more acoustic, analog & human sounds (The eyes have it). I collaborated with Gregg Kendall to jump start the project ('Licious, Plug in the monks and Articulator mastication). A Gay Black Republican remix (Pleased to mix you) provides levity. Kathy Minnick became my experimental partner for an afternoon of free-form (Kathy's idea). "Just a hunch" was thought of and finished in 10 min. Couple of classical tunes (Cry for help, A(minor) variations for synth) on this one. Booty singer Kristy Awald provides the backwards voice on "More of that".
