My only solo, full-length original album this year, Fire certainly lives up to it's title. The slow burn trip-hop of "Micronaut", Weak Signal" and "Dark Matter" is flanked by whiskey-soaked numbers and crunchy guitar jams. Dark vs light themes are explored while the contrast between lighthearted and dead-serious echos throughout the piece. There's even a xmas song from 1903 tucked away in the middle. I'm proud of this body of work, the range of styles it evokes and the fact that I (in my own way) am keeping my creative flame alive.
