Drawbridge is about actively choosing to lower one’s defenses and allow real communication, collaboration and discovery with others. It’s also about choosing when to close the drawbridge and reserve time for oneself - to search inward and find balance. The drawbridge represents the power to choose when those connections happen. This is the soundtrack to my internal conversation about this topic.

Various disparate sounds are introduced, layered in synchronistic counterpoint… and then vanish – only to return in different configurations and textures, asking different questions.

Recorded live, directly to 2-track in one continuous session, Drawbridge was also performed on the air at Listen Hear for WQRT‘s 2019 24-hour Noise-a-thon as the drive-time closer.

Here’s what I’ve learned: Context is everything. Memory is interpretive. Evolution is inevitable. Connection is possible.
